Canada's Oil, Pipeline Cos. Are Big Winners In New Budget

Law360, New York (March 30, 2012, 3:49 PM EDT) -- Canada will simplify environmental reviews and shorten approval wait times for new energy projects, according to budget documents released Thursday, a big boost for Enbridge Inc., Kinder Morgan Inc. and other companies with plans to export oil to Asia.

The country's 2012 budget includes a handful of provisions to cut through regulatory red tape, remove double review between provincial and federal agencies, and set fixed time frames for approvals.
