DOL Eases Proof Terms For Black Lung Benefits Under PPACA

Law360, New York (April 2, 2012, 10:11 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor on Friday issued its proposed rules for implementing a little-known provision in the health care reform law that helps coal miners and their survivors seek benefits under the Black Lung Benefits Act.

The DOL's Office of Workers' Compensation Programs seeks to implement amendments to the Black Lung Benefits Act that had been eliminated in 1981 and reinstated by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
