Biomet Takes Surgical Screws Suit To Supreme Court

Law360, New York (August 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A subsidiary of medical device maker Biomet has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear a long-running patent infringement suit against Medtronic Sofamor Danek Inc., after losing a high-stakes appeal earlier this year.

Cross Medical Products Inc. filed its petition for a writ of certiorari on Wednesday and should know in September whether the top court will weigh in on a dispute that centers on a lucrative surgical screw patent.
