Mining Co. Makes Peace With Enviros In Selenium Dumping Suit

Law360, New York (April 4, 2012, 5:21 PM EDT) -- Argus Energy LLC has settled a lawsuit filed by the Sierra Club and other environmental groups accusing the coal mining company of dumping toxic chemicals into West Virginia waterways in violation of the Clean Water Act, according to court documents filed Wednesday.

The details of the settlement were not included in U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers’ order suspending the case pending finalization of the settlement. But in a joint motion announcing the agreement, Argus and the plaintiffs said it had been sent to the U.S....
