SCO CEO Claims UNIX Ownership Despite Court Order

Law360 (August 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- SCO Group has steadfastly held on to the belief that it owns the copyrights to the UNIX operating system despite a Utah federal court ruling last week which assigned ownership rights to Novell Inc.

SCO President and CEO Darl McBride issued a letter to SCO customers and partners on Tuesday voicing the company's disagreement with the ruling, which helped protect the open source community from infringement suits pertaining to operating system Linux.
