Samsung Will Scrap Some 3-D TV Claims, Ad Regulator Says

Law360, Chicago (April 5, 2012, 6:50 PM EDT) -- An advertising industry self-regulator said Thursday that Samsung Electronics Inc. had agreed to pull certain certain advertising claims for its active 3-D televisions after the organization, considering a challenge from Samsung rival LG Electronics Inc., found they were unsupported.

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus found that some of Samsung's advertising claims conveyed the message that its active 3-D televisions provided a superior 3-D picture viewing experience than 3-D televisions using passive technology, including LG Cinema 3-D televisions, and that evidence...
