Ex-Intel Worker To Plead Guilty In $1B Trade Secret Theft

Law360, New York (April 5, 2012, 9:58 PM EDT) -- A former Intel Corp. engineer accused of stealing more than $1 billion in trade secrets agreed Thursday to plead guilty to five counts of wire fraud and faces up to 100 years in prison.

Biswamohan Pani, who prosecutors say downloaded confidential documents at Intel after jumping ship to company rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc., could see 20 years' imprisonment, a $250,000 fine and three years of probation for each count, according to the plea agreement.
