DOE To Release $15M To Fund Bio-Oil Research

Law360, Los Angeles (April 6, 2012, 6:37 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Energy will hand out up to $15 million to fund demonstrations of biomass-based oil supplements, known as bio-oils, that can be blended with petroleum to reduce dependence on foreign oil, the agency announced Friday.

“The Energy Department's investments to develop renewable transportation fuels are a key part of the Obama administration's all-of-the-above energy strategy to develop America's domestic energy resources and reduce our nation's dependence on foreign oil,” Energy Secretary Steven Chu said Friday.
