Enviros Slam Bid To Have FERC Rehear $9.5B Pipeline Pitch

Law360, New York (April 6, 2012, 8:14 PM EDT) -- Environmental groups on Thursday attacked a Colorado entrepreneur's bid to have the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission reconsider his $9.5 billion proposal to pump water from Wyoming into Colorado through a pipeline that would feed hydropower plants along the way.

Led by Earthjustice, the coalition said FERC was right to reject the project application the first time and decried Aaron Million's proposal as a “boondoggle … one of the biggest, most expensive, most environmentally damaging water projects in the history of the western United States.”
