In Trial Twist, Magma Co-Founder Backs Synopsys Claims

Law360, New York (April 13, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a stinging setback for Magma Design Automation, the company’s chief scientist and co-founder has admitted to using ideas he conceived of as an employee of Synopsys when he filed for two patents at the center of a dispute between the two rivals in the semiconductor industry.

In a declaration filed with the U.S. District Court for the District of Northern California, Lukas van Ginneken acknowledged that inventions he conceived while working for Synopsys were the basis for some of Magma's products and patents.
