FTC Tells Alcohol Cos. To Turn Over Digital Ad Data

Law360, New York (April 12, 2012, 7:00 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission has for the first time requested information on Internet marketing and data collection practices from Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc., MillerCoors LLC and a dozen other companies as it reviews voluntary industry guidelines for curbing alcohol advertising to underage consumers, the agency announced Thursday.

In compulsory process orders sent to the companies earlier this week, the FTC sought information on digital advertising practices, in addition to previously requested advertising expenditure and placement data and background information about the advertisers’ business practices, according to the...
