6th Circ. Affirms State Farm Win In Home Health Care Case

Law360, New York (April 12, 2012, 6:19 PM EDT) -- The Sixth Circuit upheld a verdict Thursday for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. in a lawsuit over coverage for auto accident victims' home health care, but declined to review a decision to sanction State Farm for discovery violations until after the sanctions are imposed.

A Michigan federal jury could have reasonably decided that six auto insurance policyholders who sustained brain damage in car accidents hadn't proven they were entitled to more than State Farm was willing to pay, after they failed to produce detailed documentation...
