China Stops Imports Of U.S.-Made Pacemakers

Law360, New York (August 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a reversal of recent roles for the two countries, China has flipped the switch on imports of 272 heart pacemakers and returned them to the United States after they failed the Eastern country's quality inspections.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine announced Monday that about $240,000 of U.S.-made heart pacemakers had been detained by Shanghai's customs inspections and the Quarantine Bureau near the end of April.
