China Power Leader Lands $2.4B Indian Plant Contract

Law360, New York (April 13, 2012, 3:18 PM EDT) -- Power Construction Corp. of China announced Friday its subsidiary won a $2.4 billion contract to install 2,640 megawatts of capacity for the second phase of a coal-fired thermal power megaproject in southern India.

Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Ltd. signed with the state-run Chinese power conglomerate last week to build four 660-megawatt generators at its Tamil Nadu complex in an attempt to keep up with the rapidly growing demand for power on the lower subcontinent, according to a statement Power Construction issued Friday.
