GOP Vows To Push Bill Forcing Keystone Pipeline Approval

Law360, New York (April 13, 2012, 6:43 PM EDT) -- House Republicans vowed Friday to tie a bill forcing swift approval of TransCanada Corp.'s Keystone XL pipeline to forthcoming legislation extending federal transportation programs, saying the U.S. risked losing Canadian crude oil supplies if the project stalled much longer.

House Energy and Commerce Committee Republicans said they would move forward with the North American Energy Access Act, a bill sponsored by Rep. Lee Terry, R-Neb., that would strip President Barack Obama of authority over the pipeline.
