CMGT Trustee Asks 7th Circ. To Revive Mayer Malpractice Suit

Law360, New York (April 16, 2012, 1:27 PM EDT) -- CMGT Inc.'s bankruptcy trustee asked the Seventh Circuit on Thursday to reinstate a $17 million malpractice suit alleging Mayer Brown LLP failed to properly defend the health care management company in a contract dispute with its financial adviser.

CMGT trustee David Grochocinski's complaint stems from Mayer Brown's actions in a suit against CMGT by Gerry Spehar and his company, Spehar Capital LLC, a consultant hired to help CMGT secure financing. A California court granted SC a $17 million default judgment in 2004, and SC then filed...
