Chinese Power Giant Gets Nod For 48-MW Wind Farm

Law360, New York (April 16, 2012, 4:42 PM EDT) -- Chinese power giant Huaneng Power International Inc. has earned preliminary regulatory approval for a 452 million yuan ($72 million) project to build a 48-megawatt wind farm near Shanghai, according to a statement the company filed Monday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Approximately 27 percent of the project cost, or about 120 million yuan, will come from the project company, Rudong Wind Power Generation Co. Ltd., according to the SEC filing.

The rest of the project will likely be funded through bank loans, Huaneng said....
