House Panel OKs Bills To Stem Gas Prices, Boost Oil Output

Law360, New York (April 17, 2012, 3:34 PM EDT) -- A House panel on Tuesday advanced a pair of energy bills that Republicans said would help control gasoline prices by encouraging domestic oil production and relaxing regulations on fuel-related emissions.

The House subcommittee on energy and power adopted the Strategic Energy Production Act and the Gasoline Regulations Act after a two-day markup session, sending both pieces of legislation to the full Energy and Commerce Committee.
