DOL Ruling To Embolden Consumer Safety Whistleblowers

Law360, New York (May 17, 2012, 3:37 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor has received just 17 complaints under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act's whistleblower provision since it was enacted in 2008, but the tide could turn after a recent ruling by the agency that the law's protections went beyond complaints about consumer products as defined under the law, attorneys say.
