Dept. Of Interior Sued Over Wyo. Oil, Gas Wells

Law360 (August 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An environmental group has filed a lawsuit against the United States government contesting plans for 2,000 new oil and gas wells that would destroy various animal habitats in south-central Wyoming.

The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership filed the suit on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming against the Department of the Interior for its “mishandling of a process that cleared the way for rapidly accelerated energy development on public land.”
