Boastful Ex-Kasowitz Atty Loses Bid To Reopen Suit

Law360, New York (April 19, 2012, 6:20 PM EDT) -- A New York state judge refused Thursday to reconsider her dismissal of a former Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP associate's $78 million lawsuit, which alleged that the firm fired him after he told partners he had a "superior legal mind."

During a brief hearing, Judge Eileen Bransten denied a motion by the former associate, Gregory Berry, for reargument of the judge's January dismissal of his lawsuit. A reargument motion allows a judge to reconsider her decision if she has "misapprehended or overlooked" the facts or...
