SEC Probes Univ. Of Phoenix Owner Over Insider Trading

Law360, Los Angeles (April 19, 2012, 7:33 PM EDT) -- Apollo Group Inc., the company that runs the for-profit University of Phoenix, said in financial disclosures released Thursday that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has requested information related to certain stock sales by company insiders.

The SEC's Division of Enforcement is also requesting Apollo hand over documents and other information relating to the the filing of the company's 8-K form on Feb. 28, in which the company disclosed that new degree enrollment at the University of Phoenix would be lower than originally thought, the company...
