GOP Bill Would Allow Pay Raises Above Union Restrictions

Law360, New York (April 20, 2012, 2:22 PM EDT) -- Republican lawmakers on Wednesday introduced legislation that would amend existing labor rules by allowing employers to bypass union restrictions and give raises to individual employees above the salary level set by their union.

Rep. Todd Rokita, R-Ind., introduced the Rewarding Achievement and Incentivizing Successful Employees Act to the U.S. House of Representatives, depicting the bill as a means of allowing employers to offer competitive pay rates over the restrictions imposed by the National Labor Relations Board.
