Med Industry Presses FDA To Modernize Clinical Trial Rules

Law360, New York (April 23, 2012, 6:02 PM EDT) -- Medical industry stakeholders on Monday urged the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to update quarter-century-old clinical trial regulations to keep pace with an increasingly complex world of testing for pharmaceuticals and therapeutic devices.

The comments came during an all-day public hearing that coincides with broader FDA reaction to an executive order in which President Barack Obama called on federal agencies to weed out rules that are “outmoded, ineffective, insufficient or excessively burdensome.”
