La. Law Firm Freed From $2.6M Insurance Suit

Law360, New York (April 23, 2012, 6:14 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana federal judge on Monday dismissed legal malpractice allegations against the Spears & Spears law firm in an insurance coverage lawsuit over a $2.6 million personal injury judgment, saying the alleged malpractice happened too long ago.

U.S. District Judge Jane Triche-Milazzo rejected the notion by the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans that it had avoided Louisiana's one-year statute of limitations for legal malpractice claims by filing a suit against Ike Spears and the law firm in state court.
