FDA To Improve Regulation Of Imported Products

Law360, New York (April 24, 2012, 1:25 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is adapting to a growing supply of regulated products imported from abroad by working with mail and border officials and using portable instruments to screen products in the field, according to a report issued Monday.

Those and other methods are being used by the FDA to ensure the quality and safety of imported products as global production of agency-regulated goods and materials has "exploded" over the last decade and continues to grow, the agency said in its Global Engagement Report....
