House Committee Greenlights $2.93B In USPTO Funding

Law360, New York (April 26, 2012, 3:37 PM EDT) -- The House Appropriations Committee on Thursday approved a bill that would give the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office $2.93 billion in funding for the fiscal year beginning in October, while ordering the office to prepare reports on its new satellite offices and the issue of trademark squatting.

The full committee signed off on a bill endorsed by the Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies on April 19, which would boost USPTO funding by $255 million over the current fiscal year, a 9.5 percent increase....
