FERC To Rehear $9.5B Western Hydropower Pipeline Pitch

Law360, New York (April 23, 2012, 10:10 PM EDT) -- The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission agreed on Monday to reconsider a Colorado entrepreneur's $9.5 billion proposal to pump water from Wyoming into Colorado through a pipeline that would feed hydropower plants along the way, despite protest from green groups.

Sidestepping objections by environmental groups that had argued that FERC was right to reject the project application the first time and decried Aaron Million's proposal as a “boondoggle," federal regulators agreed to grant rehearing for the purpose of further consideration.
