U.S. Panel Will Probe Recalls Of Lead-Tainted Toys

Law360, New York (August 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A U.S. congressional subcommittee plans to take a closer look at the recent recalls of Chinese-made lead-tainted children's products, and has requested information from numerous companies who have pulled products off shelves over lead paint concerns, the panel announced on Thursday.

The U.S. House subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection said that it has scheduled a hearing on the Chinese imports for Sept. 19. to address lingering safety questions.
