Nippon Says Posco Swiped Electrical Steel Secrets

Law360, New York (April 25, 2012, 8:45 PM EDT) -- Japan-based Nippon Steel Corp. said Wednesday it had launched suits in Japan and the U.S. against fellow steelmaker Posco, claiming its South Korean partner and a former employee had infringed Nippon's U.S. patents and conspired to steal its electrical steel technology.

In a statement released Wednesday, Nippon said it had lodged a suit against Posco and its Japanese subsidiary Posco Japan Co. Ltd. in Tokyo District Court, accusing its Korean strategic partner and rival of stealing trade secrets related to Nippon’s grain-oriented electrical steel sheets....
