EIB Considers $127M Clean Energy Loans To China

Law360, New York (April 26, 2012, 1:15 PM EDT) -- The European Investment Bank is considering €96 million ($127 million) in loans to finance two Chinese clean power projects under a program to combat climate change in that country, which is the world's biggest polluter, according to documents posted Wednesday.

The EIB makes 90 percent of its loans in Europe, but in 2010 renewed a program to back Chinese renewable power and energy efficiency projects. The two loans the bank is considering would be made under that initiative.
