US Chamber Pans EPA Science In Asbestos Draft Assessment

Law360, New York (April 27, 2012, 1:44 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and several equipment and mining industry groups on Tuesday criticized the scientific basis of a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency draft assessment of asbestos in Montana, urging the agency to make technical improvements before the draft is finalized.

In a letter to EPA officials, the groups said they had concerns based on numerous criticisms of the Integrated Risk Information System summary by scientists both inside and outside the federal government, including members of the EPA's Science Advisory Board.
