UGL, CH2M Win $550M Slice Of Ichthys LNG Project

Law360, New York (April 30, 2012, 3:00 PM EDT) -- A joint venture between Australian builder UGL Ltd. and Denver-based CH2M Hill Inc. has won a $550 million subcontract to build a gas-fired power plant for the $34 billion Ichthys liquefied natural gas project underway off the coast of Australia, the companies said Monday.

The partnership will design and build the 500-megawatt plant using turbines supplied by General Electric Co. When completed in 2016, the plant will power the onshore processing facility, which is expected to produce 8.4 million annual tons of liquefied natural gas....
