NH Hospitals Ask Feds To Rescue State's Medicaid Program

Law360, New York (April 30, 2012, 4:22 PM EDT) -- Trustees of 10 New Hampshire hospitals last week urged federal Medicaid officials to rescue the state’s Medicaid program, saying state-mandated cuts — already the subject of a federal lawsuit — have crippled the program and were done without assessing their impact, violating the Medicaid Act.

New Hampshire, which first implemented the cuts in 2008, already has cut Medicaid funding to the hospitals by more than $130 million during the current fiscal year with no debate on how the cuts would affect both hospitals and Medicaid patients,...
