SEC Settles Juniper Case, Sues Ex-General Counsel

Law360, New York (August 28, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Federal regulators on Tuesday accused Lisa Berry of falling into a bad habit of backdating stock options grants as the former general counsel of KLA-Tencor Corp., and of carrying on this practice as the former general counsel of Juniper Networks Inc.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission initiated a civil fraud case against Berry, alleging that she backdated options from 1997 to 2003 at the two companies. Berry is the second former KLA-Tencor executive and the first former Juniper executive to become entangled in the backdating...
