EU To Hand Down Heineken Ruling In November

Law360, New York (August 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission will issue a final response to Heineken NV's appeal of a €219.27 million price-fixing fine in November, the Dutch brewer said Wednesday.

Heineken Chief Executive Jean-Francois Boxmeer said at a press conference that EC would provide an answer to the appeal in November, but that legal proceedings involving the cartel case could stretch until 2010.

The brewing company also announced its first-half earnings on Wednesday, claiming that accounting for the fine had put a damper on what would have been a profitable period....
