Suez, GdF Seek To Extend Takeover Deadline

Law360, New York (August 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- French energy providers Suez and Gaz de France have asked the European Commission to give them another month to comply with conditions imposed by regulators on their pending merger.

The companies confirmed on Thursday that they had written to regulators to ask that the deadline be pushed back. The Commission had originally given the energy companies until Sept. 30 to meet its criteria. Extension requests must be received at least one month before the deadline is set to expire.
