E.U. Seeks Microsoft Patent Data In Windows Antitrust Case

Law360, New York (April 29, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission is pushing Microsoft Corp. to disclose key patent data related to its Windows operating system as part of an antitrust case against the software maker, according to published reports.

Competition Director General Philip Lowe told Reuters that Microsoft must explain what information is protected by its patents in order to carry out sanctions imposed on Microsoft over alleged anti-competitive practices in the computer market.
