Rothstein Worker Gets 6 Months For Aiding $1B Campaign Scam

Law360, New York (May 7, 2012, 6:18 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Friday handed a six-month prison sentence to a former employee of Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein for her part in a $1.2 billion scam to buy political favor by making illegal campaign contributions.

Marybeth Feiss was sentenced on one count of conspiracy to violate the Federal Election Campaign Act. She faced a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, but prosecutors requested a reduced sentence as part of a plea agreement.
