Carrier IQ Taps Ex-Verizon GC To Tackle Privacy Problems

Law360, New York (May 9, 2012, 5:46 PM EDT) -- Facing multidistrict litigation and government probes stemming from allegations that Carrier IQ Inc. secretly gave smartphone users' personal data to phone companies, the software company announced Tuesday that it had appointed a former Verizon Communications Inc. privacy expert as its general counsel.

Carrier IQ snagged Magnolia Mansourkia Mobley as its general counsel and chief privacy officer from Verizon, where she spent 12 years, most recently as vice president and assistant general counsel for privacy matters.
