NY Assembly OKs Bill Allowing Class Actions Against Gov't

Law360, New York (May 9, 2012, 6:44 PM EDT) -- The New York State Assembly passed legislation Tuesday to remove a bar on state court class certification in actions against government agencies, a proposal backed by plaintiff's lawyers who say citizens victimized by bad policies should have the right to relief en masse.
