Hanes Claims Rival Breached 'Barely There' Mark

Law360, New York (September 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Cotton intimates maker Hanesbrands Inc. filed a lawsuit Tuesday against rival American Apparel Inc., accusing the cotton clothing designer of infringing on its longstanding “Barely There” trademark.

Hanes claims in its lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, that its “Barely There” logo for lingerie, hosiery and other undergarments dates back to as early as 1952.
