Pfizer Moves To Toss Fraud Claims In Mirapex Case

Law360, New York (September 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Pharmaceutical company Pfizer Inc. has moved for the dismissal of fraud claims in litigation over its controversial Mirapex, arguing plaintiffs' claims that it sought to intentionally deceive consumers about the drug's link to compulsive behavior were merely speculative.

In its motion to dismiss, filed Tuesday in the Minnesota district court, Pfizer contended that a group of plaintiffs alleging fraudulent concealment, negligent misrepresentation and misrepresentation and concealment had failed to make their claims with the particularity mandated by the courts.
