U.S., U.K. To Coordinate Patent Applications

Law360 (September 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The American and British agencies in charge of patent applications announced Tuesday that they would begin accepting applications in a new program for processing applications in both countries more quickly and efficiently.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office and the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office will launch the so-called Patent Prosecution Highway project as a one-year pilot, which is scheduled to end Sept. 4, 2008, in order to determine inventors' interest, according to a joint press release from the two regulatory agencies.
