Judge Denies DOE Request To Use Nevada's Water

Law360, New York (September 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused to allow the U.S. Department of Energy to use Nevada’s water resources to continue unauthorized work at the proposed site for an underground nuclear waste depository.

In an order issued Friday, Judge Roger Hunt of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada denied the DOE’s request for a preliminary injunction that would bar Nevada authorities from policing the DOE’s water use at the proposed depository site in Yucca Mountain, Nev.
