Cardinal Agrees To Shipping Ban Over Oxycodone Orders

Law360, New York (May 15, 2012, 12:15 PM EDT) -- Cardinal Health Inc. has accepted a two-year ban on shipping prescription drugs from its Florida distribution center to settle allegations that it filled suspicious orders for oxycodone, ending a legal battle with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the parties said Tuesday.

Cardinal Health agreed to the two-year suspension of the Lakeland, Fla., facility’s DEA registration to ship controlled substances and improve its anti-diversion procedures, which the DEA says were inadequate in light of 2008 settlement it reached with the company over similar allegations.
