New Century Examiner Requests More Time

Law360, New York (September 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The examiner appointed to investigate New Century Financial Corp. has requested more time to file his report, saying that the bankrupt subprime lender and its outside auditor have been slow to produce necessary documents and information.

In a motion filed Wednesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, New Century’s examiner, Micheal J. Missal, asked the court to extend the deadline for his report until March 2008. Missal said his lengthy investigation could not be wrapped up in the 90-day time period prescribed...
