States Ask FERC To Limit Payouts In $6M Constellation Deal

Law360, New York (May 16, 2012, 7:00 PM EDT) -- State agencies asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Tuesday to block a bid by Long Island Power Authority and others for a cut of a $6 million allocation from Constellation Energy Commodities Group Inc.'s manipulative trading settlement.

Part of the regional transmission group PJM Interconnection LLC, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission along with attorney generals of Kentucky, Maryland and Virginia argued that LIPA, American Municipal Power Inc. and North Carolina Electric Membership Corp. are not state agencies that are eligible to receive the funds....
