Novartis Rebuffs Claims In Aredia Case

Law360, New York (September 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Defending itself against hundreds of lawsuits alleging its bone cancer drugs caused jaw decay, Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. has argued that its accusers have only themselves to blame for misusing the medication.

In the drug maker's answer to one of about 230 product liability complaints, which it filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, Novartis insisted that neither Zometa nor its predecessor Aredia are responsible for the severe injuries alleged.
