Sojitz, Daelim Take $830M Order For Vietnam Coal Plant

Law360, New York (May 23, 2012, 5:34 PM EDT) -- A consortium of Japan's Sojitz Corp. and Korea-based Daelim Industrial Co. Ltd. won a supply contract valued at $830 million to design and build essential equipment for a 1,200-megawatt coal-fired thermal plant in northern Vietnam, according to an announcement Wednesday.

Trading house Sojitz will partner under the contract with fellow Japanese company Toshiba Corp. to engineer, produce and deliver steam turbines and generators for the Thai Binh 2 Coal Thermal Power Plant Project, according to a joint statement Sojitz issued Wednesday.
